Plant Origin is a food-tech startup that is transforming underutilized rice bran into high-value, functional protein ingredients for the next generation of sustainable food.

Founded in Thailand, a global hub for rice production, they address a significant inefficiency in the food system: although rice bran is produced in large quantities as a byproduct of rice milling, most of its nutritional potential is either untapped or wasted. At the core of Plant Origin is a proprietary precision hydrolysis technology developed in collaboration with academic partners. This innovative technology enables the extraction and transformation of rice bran protein into a highly functional, fast-absorbing ingredient suitable for a wide range of food and nutrition applications.

Plant Origin also commercializes its technology through Exx, a plant-based egg replacer designed for food service and industrial kitchens, demonstrating real-world performance and market readiness. In the long term, the company aims to scale impact through regional production partnerships and technology licensing across major rice-producing markets in Asia.
