Meet the Startup: SeaStock

SeaStock is a marine biotechnology company based in Fremantle, Western Australia. The SeaStock team cultivates algae in onshore photobioreactors and specialises in advanced algae processing to extract natural ingredients that support innovation across the agriculture, cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical sectors.

SeaStock’s two flagship commercial products—Ruby Sea™, a natural red colorant derived from R-Phycoerythrin (R-PE), and Alga Toro™, a bromoform-based livestock feed supplement—were launched in 2025. Both products are the result of SeaStock’s patented dual-extraction technology, a groundbreaking process that enables the simultaneous extraction of multiple high-value compounds from a single algae source.

SeaStock has received significant industry recognition, including the MassChallenge Switzerland – winner of the Louis Dreyfus Company Climate Resilience Prize in 2023. The company participated in the Founders Factory Accelerator Program in 2024 and, in 2025, gained global exposure through the Greentown Labs Australian Startup Exchange in Houston and represented Western Australia at World Expo Osaka as part of the WA Innovator Roundtable.
